welcome to the season!!

Join us as we rally for support and solidarity for seasoned and new cyclists on Wednesday, May 22nd at King of Kings Barbershop in Brooklyn, NY from 7-10pm at our #ShowMeHelmetHair Bike Party.

whY #ShowMeHelmetHair?

Our campaign stems from our quest to end the gender disparity in bicycle commuting. A "tip of the hat" salutation welcomes cyclists to the season and is our way of starting a dialogue around helmet hair and other post-ride appearance concerns. It also introduces individuals who refrain from sustained bicycle riding due to negative self-image and/or cultural stigmas to an accessible and supportive bike network.

Over the years we received support from local and industry businesses, elected officials, bicycle clubs, amateur and professional bicycle racers, bicycle enthusiasts and fans from around the world. We aim to grow our social media base and continue to spotlight barriers we encounter until we all can ride a bicycle without bias.

Party goers will be able to mingle with some of NYC's top movers and shakers in the bicycle world, have an opportunity to share their post-ride stories, enjoy artisan bites and beverages, and participate in our raffle and silent auction to win top-notch products and services!

If you are not in the NYC area and cannot attend our Bike Party you can still join the campaign by posting your post-ride story on your social media channel(s) along with our #ShowMeHelmetHair hashtag. Watch the video below to hear one of ours.
