Come Party with us!!

Our welcome party is on May 16th at Headchop hair studio in Williamsburg. We'll welcome all cyclists to the season with hair styling stations set-up for attendees to learn about products and have fun coming up with the best helmet hairdo for their style. We will also offer basic bike repair tips, information on the state of bike commuting, and highlight the health benefits of bike riding as a viable transportation mode. Tickets and more information can be found at: http://showmehelmethair.bpt.me

whY #ShowMeHelmetHair?

Get Women Cycling's multi channel campaign stems from our quest to end the gender disparity in bicycling.

Our concept is to welcome new and seasoned cyclists to the season with a play on the "tip of the hat" salutation while raising awareness of post-ride appearance concerns.

#ShowMeHelmetHair introduces individuals who refrain from sustained bicycle riding due to poor self-image and/or cultural stigmas associated with post ride appearance to an accessible and supportive network.

Our brick-and-mortar sponsors with storefront windows will display #ShowMeHelmetHair window clings and have information and stickers available for patrons who are interested in learning more and/or participating online.

Our hope is that one day we'll line major commercial streets in urban centers around the world with #ShowMeHelmetHair decals and calls to action as a symbol of support and solidarity for all those who commute by bicycle.

Our campaign will run thru June 2nd.
